I wanted to be a meteorologist but that required college so that was a no go. On the other end of the spectrum I wanted to start a self sufficient farm in the back woods. Build my own log home and sell produce and crafts. Couldn't do that because there would be no kingdom halls nearby. So I ended up going into construction. Still Totally ADD

What Did You Choose Jehovah Over?
by minimus insome jws believe they have the truth.
they alone understand god, jehovah.
they are very happy being jehovah’s witnesses.👍👌..... many others realize what they have given up for jehovah, to belong to the jehovah’s witness religion.

Memories of Maryland Conventions!
by Atlantis inposting for brother x. petra!.
if you were a child during the years of 1960 to 1970, the question isn't; do you remember these conventions?
the question is; how could you forget?

Atlantis what I use to hate was they would always schedule the CA on Thanksgiving weekend. Three days of misery. 6pm to 9pm Friday, 9am to 9pm on Saturday and 9am to 4 or 5pm on Sunday. Come Monday morning at school I was exhausted while the rest of the kids were happy and excited that Christmas was coming. Then the 1969 Atlanta hell hole DC. 8 days of extreme heat, thunder storms and heat exhaustion. Such. Happy memories. Still Totally ADD

LongHairGal agree with what you said but I do live in a area that is very rural. Jamestown was a city of 50,000 population 30 years ago now it is down to 29,000. To me I feel it is a money grab by the borg. Just a year ago one of the congregation went through a total renovation. The other looks almost brand new. Just saying. Still Totally ADD

Driving by a KH yesterday we saw a for sale sign in front of the building. They want $270,000.00 for it. It's on a beautiful piece of property off a main road outside the city limits. The building can be no more than 10 years old and is very beautiful. The 4200 sq. ft. building has two congregation in it. Down the road about 15 miles away a newly renovated KH is also for sale. So three congregations are gone and being moved into other congregations. The only one left is two blocks away and it has two congregations in it. My wife and I find this to be very interesting considering this area had 5 congregations now I guess only 2 congregations.
It could be lack of jobs or people are moving away. I know of 2 ex. KH building in this area now there will be 4. Thought you all would like to know. Still Totally ADD

Reasonable question - looking for reasonable responses!
by BoogerMan inwhy are taxi firms still operating during a "deadly pandemic?".
i was shopping yesterday and saw taxi after taxi picking people & their shopping up at the supermarket.
none of the drivers or any of the passengers wore masks or gloves, nor did they keep any distance from each other - in or out of the car.. the drivers all helped to load the bags into the boots/trunks of their cars.taxi-drivers must be seriously at risk of catching/spreading covid 19...

Has Anything Positive Come Out Of This Coronavirus Isolation For You?
by minimus ini guess you could make a case of more families being together although that might not be the best situation.
less cars and pollutants mean we can breathe better.
if you were ever uncomfortable in crowds, this could be good news.

Here in Jamestown we received a phone calls yesterday letting us know the framers market will be open for business starting in June. We have been part of this for years until this year. We have decided not to do the market this year. Social distancing will be impossible and I just can't see that big of a attendance since most of the folks are elderly. Plus I have preexisting conditions and both my wife and I are in our mid 60's. It just to much of a risk for us. Sad for us but we feel this is what we need to do. Looking forward to next season. So why the angry comeback. I'm with you on most of what you said. Those who you think are sitting on their ass did not ask for this and still have bill's to pay. Maybe you live in a well to do place but where I live people are hurting. Jobs taken away from them because of the stay at home policy. Rent or mortgage payments don't stop. Electric, home gas and water still needs to be paid. Insurance, credit cards and phone Bill's still need to be paid. For those folks they will not be running out to restaurants, bars or whatever they did before. They will just be happy to have a job. Were is this lots of money being throw at that them? Are you talking about unemployment insurance. That was paid in by their employer as a safety net for those laid off. That $1,200 one time payment. While in those same bill's large corporations got more big tax cuts. To tell you the truth it's not that much.
So no I don't agree with you on that one point. I live in the real world were hard working people are being screwed left and right and right now due to this virus they are between a rock and a hard place. Still Totally ADD
